Reply from blondishshyrose: Hello blunt, sorry it has taken so long to reply.
When we say about the boards it is where you joined a group like Ireland Connected and we have message boards, (so you would click here and go to the group,
http://irelandconnected1.yuku.com/
then you would go to the general message board for instance, (the heart of the group) and join in the conversations in any of the conversation just click reply
and a text box will appear for you to type your message there or start a new topic of your own. You will get used to it I promise you. Give it a go, and if
you have problems or questions just ask, we will all be glad to help in the group.
You will soon get used to the computer I assure you......we were all in the same boat when we all started.....You will soon be having so much fun you will
wonder why it took so long to get on the computer haha.
I wanted to ask a question before. Up until 30 seconds ago I didn't even really know what or where the UK was located. When I get more time I'll need
to do some looking into it. But, in the meantime I'd like to something. The UK, is that independent of England? Was it ever a part of England? I hope I
don't offend you and I hestitate to ask to much becasue I know way back in the day Ireland and Scotland were not the best of friends with England. I mean
way back with William Wallace. I'd better stop right there.
Do you know a good site with a history of the Ilse?
Reply from blondishshyrose: Hello George
England is part of the UK, and don't worry about not knowing very much because I am with you on that one lol. My geography is awful. haha.
Yes you are right there was a time when the english wasn't favoured at all by the Irish, and I'm not sure about the scottish. If you google Ireland
Famine, you will get a great deal on the subject.
Nice to meet you! Nice home page you have. I enjoyed the music. Occasionally here on the public channel we watch "Celtic Women". My great grandmother
Margaret Broderick and her husband were from County Cork in Ireland. My father had visited there many times and sent us pictures. It looks like a beautiful
country. I have found it difficult to do genealogy when people came from a different country. Mostly, due to the difference in speeling the names. I have
Broderick spelled so many different ways that it is impossible to find anything on her...so far. Evan my own family geneaolgy gets to be an obsession at times.
Anyway, I'll check into the genealogy at Irishconnection sometime. I have to admit I take a certain amount of pride when I can say I have Irish roots...
Reply from blondishshyrose: Hi George.
Glad to hear that you will go into the genealogy section in Ireland Connected, but post too on the general message board, you will get to know everyone there
and they you.
When I am feeling better, I will see what I can find on the Broderick family.

can skip these ones, it's up to GOD,,I have to wear something like boxing gloves that they keep extremely cold and through the treatment 1 hour, they want
you to wear them because your hands and fingers will all go tingley,,,I hate the cold, but you do what you have to do, I feel it has been so loong
already....ahhhhhhh well, so goes it,,,GOD brought me to it, I PRAY he brings me through it. ((HUGS)) for you. Original comment »

also here is a site that will explain about the British Isles http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminology_of_the_British_Isles
I hope i am of some help, I do like to try.
Don't worry at all about offending me with genuine questions, I don't mind at all and I am not easily offended.
Let me know how you get on with your research
